Doctor Must User Mood Finger Rings While Checking Patient

Ever see mood rings made of stone and can change color according to mood at that moment? Popular ring a few years ago is now recommended that doctors use. Mood doctors need to know to avoid prescription errors to patients.

Experts say patients prescription error was originated from the doctor’s own mood was not good. Doctors who moodnya bad or stress tend to give the wrong prescription.

“Based on the survey we did, a lot of doctors who write prescriptions for moodnya was not good. With wear mood rings, the patient may be able to know the mood at the time the doctor or the doctor himself aware of his own mood and can anticipate that not wrong to write a prescription, “said Prof. Talma Kushnir, from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) Faculty of Health Sciences as reported by EurekAlert, Thursday (14/1/2010).

Professor Kushnir and colleagues conducted a study of 188 doctors and analyze his mood type when dealing with patients. The doctors who become participants were given a few questions and asked to rank (order) on some of the following criteria:

1. The amount of time talking to patients
2. Types of drugs prescribed
3. Laboratory tests
4. Diagnostic test
5. Send patients to specialists

The survey is known that when a doctor is a good or positive mood, he more chose to spend time talking with the patient and not rush to write prescriptions, tests, or send him to a specialist.

“Conversely, if his mood was bad, he tends to talk a bit and quickly create a prescription drug. This could lower the quality of patient care and increase medical costs in case of medical error,” said Prof Kushnir.

But with the mood ring detection, both patients and doctors can tell if a recipe is given the possibility of right or wrong and be more careful again write a prescription. How a mood ring is actually derived from the liquid crystals will react as the temperature increased or decreased.

Color ring surface is the interpretation of one’s mood.

Blue: calm, relaxed, comfortable
Green: normal (normal)
Yellow / Orange: excited, happy, happy
Brown / gray: tension, anxiety, stress
Black / dark blue: cold
